Trade Services
Grasshopper works across the regulated cannabis supply chain to originate, structure and support physical transactions.
Our capabilities combine product sourcing, trade execution, counterparty risk management and capital. We can participate at different points in a transaction depending on what is required to make the trade work.
1
Product Sourcing
Reliable supply from qualified producers.
Grasshopper works with a growing network of producers, processors and manufacturers across regulated international markets.
We help buyers source products that meet their requirements for specification, quality, volume, price and delivery, while giving suppliers access to credible and repeatable demand.
Our role can include identifying supply, negotiating commercial terms, coordinating samples and specifications, structuring purchases and managing the transaction through delivery.

2
Trade & Counterparty Risk Management
A trusted intermediary when counterparties need greater certainty.
A good trade can still be difficult to execute when the parties are unfamiliar with one another, have different payment expectations or are unwilling to assume each other's credit or performance risk.
Grasshopper can step into qualifying transactions as a commercial intermediary - purchasing from one counterparty and selling to another under separately structured agreements.
This can allow suppliers to transact with Grasshopper rather than extending credit to an unfamiliar downstream buyer, while giving buyers access to supply through a counterparty that understands the product, transaction and participants.
Our objective is simple: make commercially sound trades easier and more reliable to execute.

3
Trade Finance
Capital attached to physical trade.
Grasshopper provides and arranges capital where financing helps create, secure or execute physical cannabis trade.
Structures may include:
Product Prepayments - Advance funding against contracted or expected future product supply.
Working Capital - Capital supporting production, processing, inventory and other requirements associated with identifiable trading activity.
CAPEX Finance - Funding or arranging capital for equipment or capacity required to support contracted production, processing or offtake.
Inventory & Receivables Finance - Transaction-specific capital supported by identifiable product, customers and cash flows.
Grasshopper may fund transactions directly or work with financing partners depending on the structure and requirements.
Our capital is not standalone. It is deployed in connection with physical trade, offtake or another commercial relationship that complements Grasshopper's trading business.

Special Situations
Complex situations with a commercial solution.
Cannabis markets do not always produce conventional transactions.
Grasshopper is comfortable evaluating situations involving constrained liquidity, excess inventory, distressed or transitional businesses, restructuring, unusual assets or other circumstances where traditional sources of capital may not provide a solution.
Our starting point is not simply whether we can provide financing. We look for an underlying commercial opportunity - product, inventory, production capacity, customers or offtake - that can be integrated with Grasshopper's trading activities.
Where the commercial fundamentals make sense, we can combine trade structuring, offtake and capital to develop a transaction-specific solution.
